Forest Animals: Fox Watching a Squirrel with an Acorn
Coloring guide
Sitting upright on the forest floor, a young fox tilts its head back and fixes its eyes on a small squirrel perched on a thick oak branch above. The squirrel crouches on the limb with a single acorn in its paws and its big fluffy tail curled up behind. Around them are large oak leaves, a gnarled trunk with a knot in the bark, leafy ferns and spotted mushrooms of different sizes on the ground. More acorns lie scattered at the bottom, and rows of trees and bushes fill the background. Big fluffy fur areas mixed with finer leaf details suit kids who like a little challenge. Warm orange for the fox with a creamy white chest and tail tip, reddish-brown for the squirrel and red caps on the mushrooms would work well. - 3Color the leaves, bushes, and grass in lime green and grass green, adding forest green in the darker spots and light green for highlights.
- 4Color the mushrooms in bright red, keeping their cream white stems and white spots.
- 5Add soft pink to the inside of the fox's ears and the cheek, and burnt orange to the fox's paws and the small details at the bottom.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the fox's tail and the tree trunk to make them look more rounded.
