Bear and Monkey Halloween Trick-or-Treat in the Jungle

In this jungle-style scene, a smiling bear cub in a leafy vine crown and leaf mask strolls beside a little monkey. The bear carries a pumpkin-shaped candy bucket full of sweets and has a leafy garland around its neck. The monkey grins up at its friend, wears a matching leaf necklace and holds a small lantern with a candle inside. Three carved jack-o'-lanterns hang from curling leafy vines along the top, and big tropical leaves frame both sides and the bottom. Large shapes and clear outlines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pumpkins and the lantern-free background: fill the pumpkins with pumpkin orange and leave the faces white for now.
- 2Color the bear's fur in caramel brown for the head, arms and ears, and chocolate brown for the body and legs, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Fill the monkey's face and body in light peach, with a golden yellow tummy, and chocolate brown for its arms, legs and tail.
- 4Color all the leaves in light green for the crowns and necklaces, and dark green for the big palm leaves on the sides and bottom of the page.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading in a darker shade of brown on the bear's body to give it some depth.
- 6Finish with the white highlights and the vine curls, keeping the eye whites and bucket handle white.
